An official Census 2011 detail of Tikamgarh, a district of Madhya Pradesh has been released by Directorate of Census Operations in Madhya Pradesh. Enumeration of key persons was also done by census officials in Tikamgarh District of Madhya Pradesh.
In 2011, Tikamgarh had population of 1,444,920 of which male and female were 759,891 and 685,029 respectively. There was change of 20.11 percent in the population compared to population as per 2001. In the previous census of India 2001, Tikamgarh District recorded increase of 27.90 percent to its population compared to 1991.
The initial provisional data suggest a density of 286 in 2011 compared to 238 of 2001. Total area under Tikamgarh district is of about 5,048 sq.km.
Average literacy rate of Tikamgarh in 2011 were 62.57 compared to 55.73 of 2001. If things are looked out at gender wise, male and female literacy were 73.30 and 50.71 respectively. For 2001 census, same figures stood at 68.68 and 40.99 in Tikamgarh District. Total literate in Tikamgarh District were 764,250 of which male and female were 470,142 and 294,108 respectively. In 2001, Tikamgarh District had 542,498 in its total region.
